It is with great joy and excitement that I am going to Israel! God has opened an incredible door for me to go to Bible College in Jerusalem, to study biblical Hebrew, and to seek out mission opportunities within the various communities.
Nine years ago, I rededicated my life to the true Lover of My Soul, Jesus Christ. I had run for years from my calling to missions that occurred as a young girl.
Approximately eight years ago, I joined a church, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, which focuses on missions. But God had another calling that I needed to fulfill…a personal mission trip that included the care and provision for my mother. As mother declined, I began to have a desire to go to Bible College and do full-time missions. I did not know that the Father would call Mom home six months after this dream was deposited into my heart.
As my walk with Christ deepened, I had a longing to learn Ancient Biblical Hebrew and then COVID-19 brought terror as a healthcare worker, but it also became a blessed time. It was during this quietness that I began my first online class of Ancient Biblical Hebrew, and to date I have completed over 36 months of study. Little did I know that the study of Ancient Biblical Hebrew would lead to other divine connections.
I found a Bible College in Israel with a concentration in Cognate Languages-Biblical Hebrew. While God was directing me to a school in Israel, God was working behind the scenes in other ways for me to get connected with mission opportunities. The first opportunity is through my Bible College and its Field Ministry Class. This class will place me in ministry settings in Israel and/or the West Bank in order to develop practical skills necessary for leadership in a wide variety of ministries in the Middle East. The settings that I will work in include schools, churches, social service organizations i.e. orphanages and food banks.
As I look toward the summer of 2024, my goal is to do ministry/mission work during my summer break. Johnson Ferry Baptist Church is assisting me with networking for mission opportunities over the summer. One possible connection is me working alongside Young Life In Israel. Young Life runs summer youth camps and there may be a need for my clinical expertise as a nurse practitioner. My church has also paired me up with a team that specializes in sending others on cross-cultural missions called, "Upstream Sending."
My funding goal for Summer 2024 is $12,000. This amount will allow me stay spend of portion of my summer break in Israel. Will you join me in my journey and become a part of my team?
The first thing you can do is pray!
Please pray for my upcoming transition. Pray that all things will fall into place as I make my plans to leave and begin school in August 2023. Please pray that I will give all of the details to the Lord and rest in the assurance of his provision.
Your contributions will help fund room/board, travel accommodations, and other practical needs to live abroad in Israel. Bible College will allow me to increase my knowledge of the Word and will allow me to network with different charitable organizations. Your monthly or one-time support will allow me to fulfill my dream of serving others through gospel and medical missions, while in Israel.
